QLD: Man in court on child sex offences dating to 1973
CAIRNS, Aug 10 AAP - A Townsville man appeared in court today charged with child sex
offences dating back to 1973.
The 43-year-old man, who cannot be named, faced two counts in Townsville Magistrates
Court of indecent treatment of a minor.
It is alleged the man committed the offences when he was himself a minor.
Townsville Juvenile Aid Bureau detectives investigating historic child sexual abuse
files arrested the man yesterday for alleged offences committed on a boy at a Palm Island
swimming hole.
The man was not required to enter a plea and was granted bail to appear at a committal
hearing on September 27.
