Vic: Crisis meeting to avert public hospital industrial chaos
A crisis meeting between the health union and authorities has been scheduled for later
today in an attempt to avert industrial chaos in Victoria's hospitals.
Staff at the Western Hospital walked off the job last week as the Health Services Union
of Australia No 1 Branch began a campaign for a new pay deal for cleaners, orderlies and
other health workers.
The action was followed by stopwork meetings at other public hospitals this week.
